Preserving the Sounds Behind Rock’s Greatest Legends

Meet the family behind the music—the Dallas originals who redefined live sound and shaped rock history, one show at a time.

‍ ‍Showco was the little company from Dallas that revolutionized live music. Founded in 1970, Showco invented the modern touring sound system — delivering crystal-clear, powerful audio to the world's biggest acts and changing the concert experience forever.

Showco Archives is a living archive dedicated to preserving the full story of Showco — the people, the gear, and the moments that never made the headlines. The archive spans thousands of unique items: meticulously cataloged tour itineraries, inter-office memos, stage plots, rare photos, vintage crew apparel, soundboard recordings, and more — all sourced directly from alumni and family collections with documented provenance.

This project is dedicated to honoring the unsung heroes of live music, providing a resource for alumni, industry professionals, and fans, and securing Showco's recognition as a true Dallas original and a transformative force in music history.

Showco Archives is run by Indigo Kretzschmar-May, whose father Donnie "DK" Kretzschmar was a Showco senior sound engineer and Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash survivor.
