Bill Leggat (Transportation Dept., 1978) was one of SHOWCO’s road-true truckers—the kind of guy who could move an entire tour like clockwork and still keep everybody laughing on the CB. On the radio he was famously known as “The Ugliest Man in the World,” and he was rarely seen without his co-pilot: the Muppet Animal perched on the dashboard, leaning against the radar detector with a drumstick in hand. Alongside the CB, Bill also ran a Ham (Amateur) Radio, because staying connected was part of the job—and part of who he was.
When SHOWCO sold the trucks, Bill moved over to Clark Transfer with the promise he could keep the same truck—and Clark kept that promise. Below is a list of artists and productions Bill hauled for, a snapshot of just how wide his road miles (and stories) really ran.

If you toured with Bill, caught him on the CB, or have a photo (especially with Animal riding shotgun), I’d love to add it—send it my way so we can keep his piece of the SHOWCO story on the record.
