CF Bernill
C.F. Bernill is a SHOWCO alum and lifelong audio professional whose career blends service, touring, theatre, and education. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran (active duty 1971–1973), he worked locally in Memphis from 1973–1983 before joining SHOWCO as Monitor Mix / Sound Systems Engineer (1984–1990). He later served as Monitor Mix Engineer & Production Coordinator with INXS (1990–1997; also 1999 & 2014), and went on to lead audio for decades as Department Head of Audio/AV at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis (1998–2018).
C.F. has also been deeply involved in training the next generation—teaching with the University of Memphis Commercial Music Department (1984–85; 1994–95) and serving as Chief Audio Engineer for U of M Commencement Services (since 1996), now Emeritus Adjunct Faculty. His experience spans the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of fixed and mobile sound systems, theatrical sound design, and technical event production—including labor management—always with the steady, professional approach that keeps a show running right.
If you’ve got a C.F. story, a photo, a tour laminate, or a memory from the road, please reach out—I’d love to add it here so his piece of the SHOWCO history stays on the record.
