Opening Night — First Final Farewell Tour
These following photographs were taken by Silvio Amenduni at the FilaForum in Assago, Milan, on June 1, 2004 — the opening night of Phil Collins’ First Final Farewell Tour. Milan was the first listed date of the 2004 tour, making this gallery a record of the very beginning of that run.
Silvio has his own long connection to the Genesis world. He is among the longtime contributors to Dusk, the Italian magazine founded in 1991 and dedicated to documenting Genesis, the solo careers of its members, and the wider Genesis family.
Silvio recently reached out to Showco Archives and generously shared this collection from Milan. Beyond capturing Phil Collins and the musicians onstage, his photographs also preserve the scale, staging, lighting and production of the show — the kind of visual history that helps tell the story behind the performance.
I’m very grateful to Silvio for allowing these images to become part of Showco Archives and for helping preserve another piece of Phil Collins touring history.
